Adam DeZure, MD

Adam brings to Atea more than 10 years of clinical research and development experience where his primary focus has been the prevention and treatment of emerging viral diseases.

Before joining Atea, Adam was the Senior Medical Director of Clinical Development at Cidara Therapeutics. Prior to that, Adam served as Senior Director of Clinical Research (Emerging Viruses) at Gilead Sciences and as a Senior Clinical Research & Development Lead at GSK Vaccines. Adam began his career within NIAID at the National Institutes of Health as an Associate Investigator in the Clinical Trials Program of the Vaccine Research Center.

Adam holds an M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan and a clinical fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the National Institutes of Health.
