James brings over 25 years of experience and expertise in pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and a proven track record of CMC execution to Atea.
Prior to joining Atea, James was VP of Technical Operation at Centessa Pharmaceuticals where he provided technical and operational leadership across several of their clinical and pre-clinical programs. Earlier in his career he held a variety of Technical Operations/CMC roles of increasing responsibility at GSK, Vertex, Hospira, MIT-NVS Center for Continuous Manufacturing, Hospira, NuCana and Arvelle Therapeutics.
James earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Heriot Watt University (Edinburgh), MS from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and a BS from the University of Sunderland.
